The Role Of PC Motor Control

PC Motor Control is a vital recent function of the whole motor controller arena.  The rapid and accelerated progress in computers has brought many advances to this field.  Certainly, entire practices have evolved while some have disappeared or diminished.  No longer are manufacturers, industrialists and business operators satisfied with the limited control available previous to computers.  The body of production machinery has now acquired its own mind.  The CNC motor control is an early example of this sort of equipment.  Coordination and direction, monitoring, controlling, data collection and analysis, emergency safeguarding, troubleshooting, activating switchgear, communications, and numerous other vital functions now pass through the circuitry of a PC Motor Control. 

Whereas the machine operators used to handle most things manually, The computer has now often replaced the hand controls with a PC Motor Control; sometimes referred to as a user interface.  Because machines are involved, they are also known as either a human-machine interface (HMI) or man-machine interface (MMI).  There is some suggestion that the two terms are diverging in meaning and that they describe different concepts currently.  Two other terms might also be applied interchangeably.  One is operator interface terminal (OIT) and the other is operator interface console (OIC).  In any case, one will always find that they are a form of PC Motor Control.
